Chef Adam sets a new world record on live TV - August 2007

Adam Zwerling, Evo's corporate chef, established a new world record this morning for pancake flipping. Zwerling flipped 651 pancakes, easily surpassing the previous world record of 555 pancakes flipped by one man in the span of one hour. As with the previous record, Zwerling used three (3) Evo Flattop Grills to cook pancakes that were no less than 5 inches in diameter, no more than 0.39 inches thick, and cooked through without being burned.

Chef Mark Bernetich, Corporate Chef for Sysco Food Services in Portland, served as the official judge at this morning’s record-setting event. Wilsonville, Oregon-based Sysco hosted the event, provided the pancake ingredients and collected donations to benefit Special Olympics of Oregon. Drew Carney, TV reporter for Portland’s NewsChannel 8 covered the event live on his “Out and About” television show. Watch the video by clicking here. Also, see pictures here. So far, the story has been picked up by NBC stations in Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Quincy, IL.
